A skylight is a structure that allows light on the roof to travel to the interior of a building. Skylights are particularly useful in spaces that do not receive much natural daylight. For example, walk-in-robes, hallways and rooms next to patios or verandahs.

Skylights are a pleasant, environmentally friendly solution to brightening your residential or commercial premises. Using natural light rather than electricity as a light source saves energy and can dramatically cut your electricity bills.
There are three main components of a skylight - what you see on the roof (the top structure), what you see on the celing (the ceiling frame and ceiling panel), and the duct which connects the top structure to the ceiling frame. In general we use 4-layer flexible ducting unless there's a specific need for a rigid duct.
At RJ Skylights we have three options for the top structure - the Envirolite, a Conventional or Solaflex.
Envirolite

Our flagship product is the Envirolite skylight. Unique to RJ Skylights, the Envirolite was developed with Australia's climate in mind and blocks out 99.9% of harmful UV rays. Whilst achieving good natural light transfer, it also provides excellent thermal insulation with resulting energy savings. This is achieved by using a flat triple-wall polycarbonate panel in place of a dome in the top structure. RJ Skylights are the only company in Australia producing a product like the Envirolite skylight. It is tested to the Australian Standard AS4285 and has a 10 year product guarantee.
Conventional skylights

Conventional skylights are manufactured with zincalume or colorbond top structures in a wide range of sizes to suit most situations. The Acrytuff opalite domes are UV stabilised to ensure a long life in the Australian sun. The unique extruded aluminium ceiling frame is powder coated white. Clear prismatic diffusers are standard. All vents are fly screened to keep insects out and are suitable for both tile and metal rooves.
Solarflex Skylight
Solarflex Skylights are round and are manufactured in Colorbond colours to match most tile and metal rooves. The clear dome is UV stabilised and sits on a circular upstand lined with reflective stainless steel to maximise light transfer.
